  2. Add a short note if you want to remember more about the day.
  3. Choose existing tags or create tags that make sense to you.
  4. Save the entry. MonoMood keeps one entry for each calendar day.

History

Browse and edit past entries

  1. Open the History tab.
  2. Use the calendar to move between months and select a day with an entry.
  3. Open the day's entry to review or change its mood, note, or tags.
  4. Save your changes when you are finished.

Statistics

See patterns in your tags

  1. Open the Statistics tab.
  2. Choose the period you want to review.
  3. Use the mood trend and tag breakdowns to see how your entries add up.
  4. Remember that statistics describe the entries you recorded; they are not medical advice.

  1. Open Settings and find Notifications.
  2. Allow notifications when your device asks for permission.
  3. Turn on the daily reminder and choose a time that suits you.

Themes and language

Adjust MonoMood to your phone

  1. Open Settings and choose your preferred language.
  2. Choose a theme from the available colour families.
  3. Select a light or dark appearance, or let MonoMood follow your system setting.
  4. Your choice stays on your device.

App Lock

App Lock uses your device authentication. MonoMood does not receive raw biometric data.

Protect opening the app

  1. Open Settings and go to Backup & Security.
  2. Turn on the option to require authentication when opening MonoMood.
  3. Confirm with Face ID, fingerprint, or your device passcode.
  4. MonoMood will ask for device authentication when you open or return to the app.

Export and backups

Export and import your diary

  1. Open Settings and choose Data Management.
  2. Export a plain CSV file for interoperability, or choose encrypted export for a private .mmbackup file.
  3. Keep an export passphrase safe. MonoMood cannot recover it.
  4. To import, choose a file yourself, then decide how duplicate days should be handled.

Set up automatic encrypted snapshots

  1. Open Settings and go to Backup & Security.
  2. Turn on Automatic backups and choose a passphrase.
  3. Choose a destination: your device, an Android folder you select, or iCloud Drive on iOS.
  4. Use Back up now to create a snapshot immediately. You can later restore, share, or delete saved snapshots.

Voluntary support purchases

Support without locked features

  1. Open Settings and choose Support MonoMood.
  2. Choose a one-time support amount if you want to help fund development.
  3. The purchase is handled by the App Store or Google Play.
  4. Support purchases unlock no features and do not change how your diary data is handled.
